Time Flies at Go Live!
First up was a panel on how blockchain, tooling digitalisation and advanced air mobility will impact the aftermarket – and how regulators need to respond.
“Regulation is lacking a lot of collaboration globally,” said Andreas Perotti of eHang, an eVTOL developer. “It’s important to easily enable practical operational opportunities”.
Other start-ups used the opportunity to ask the panel about the best way to progress their own products towards certification.
Alongside new technology, sustainability was a hot topic at the Go Live! Theater with four presentations devoted to it.
This included one on the prospects for Sustainable Aviation Fuel, and the huge challenges involved in scaling up production. The panel favoured a mix of penalties and incentives, while an audience member suggested that passengers should opt out, rather than opt in, from sustainability surcharges.
Elsewhere, Daniel Williams presented Aviation Week Network’s latest forecasts. He expects European MRO to grow at 1.5% annually over the next decade, during which time it will be the second most valuable market outside Asia.
