Recognizing TrueAero’s Decade of Customer-centric Expertise
Celebrating a decade in the aviation industry, TrueAero has firmly established itself as a model of customer-centric expertise. With an impressive track record that includes disassembling more than 200 assets at teardown facilities globally, TrueAero's journey over the past 10 years has been remarkable.
From its inception as a used serviceable materials (USM) provider, TrueAero has evolved into a comprehensive service provider. Offering full-suite solutions encompassing leasing, technical services and materials, TrueAero has responded to industry needs with a robust portfolio of services. This expansion reflects TrueAero's commitment to customer experience and reliability, two pillars that have stood at the core of the company’s operations since its inception.
A recent conversation with Ann McManus, TrueAero’s VP of People, sheds light on the company's growth and the expertise accumulated over the years.
“There is nothing like the experience of going through industry cycles to really learn the pitfalls and opportunities,” says McManus. “Experience brings better knowledge and brings better customer service because you know what you're going to encounter.”
Moreover, TrueAero's focus on technology has played a pivotal role in developing strong customer and vendor management systems, ensuring precision and professionalism in every project undertaken.
“It's not only our management systems, but it's also the supporting systems that enable us to better manage our projects, be that a teardown or an asset lease, trade or transition,” McManus says.
McManus also highlighted the significant role of TrueAero's engineering teams. “We have two elements to our engineering: our technical services that support our leasing customers and investors, and our internal engineering services,” McManus says. “Those external technical people bring so much experience — strong records experience — which is massive for our customers across the world. Our internal engineering team within USM also do so much proactively and are so detailed and organized, which sets us apart.”
On the logistics front, TrueAero's global operations are fortified by vast experience, with team members drawn from varied backgrounds within the aviation industry. Such diversity and depth of experience have enabled TrueAero to manage logistical challenges efficiently, even in the face of unexpected global events like the COVID-19 pandemic or geopolitical conflicts.
TrueAero's global team structure has been strategically developed to ensure success. With teams based in the US, Europe, Asia, and South America, the company offers 24/7 service availability, including Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support. This structure is not just about geographic coverage; it's about ingraining the extensive industry experience into the customer experience. The business development team, each average more than 20 years in the sector, and the account management team, average 14 years.
“We always have a team on AOG services. We've got full daytime coverage for our customers in Europe and the Americas because we've got teams based there,” McManus says. “It works very well and harmoniously together.”
A glimpse into TrueAero's 2023 transactions reveals the breadth of the company's inventory and achievements. With a variety of platforms supported — from the CFM56 and CF6 series to Airbus A320/330/340 and Boeing 737/767/777 — TrueAero has maintained a diverse and comprehensive inventory to meet the dynamic needs of the aviation industry. The leasing portfolio itself boasts 46 aircraft and 21 engines in service, demonstrating the company's robust commitment to excellence and reliability.
TrueAero’s 2023 highlights include the delivery of four aircraft and 13 engines, the extension of seven leases, and the facilitation of six aircraft and two engine sales. Additionally, TrueAero completed two acquisitions and sale-leasebacks, underlining the company’s unwavering dedication to serving the aviation industry with unparalleled expertise.
Addressing industry challenges like repair lead times, shop capacity and material shortages, TrueAero stands out for its proactive approach in tackling such issues head-on. Reduced availability of whole end-of-life aircraft and engines has compelled the company to innovate and devise solutions that keep them at the industry's cutting edge.
For TrueAero, "Connecting the world through aviation" isn't just a tagline; it's TrueAero's promise and commitment as they embark on the next decade of service.
