Airlines for America, the Industry Trade Organization for Leading U.S Airlines
Every day, U.S. airlines operate more than 27,000 flights carrying 2.7 million passengers to/from nearly 80 countries and 61,000 tons of cargo to/from more than 220 countries. Annually, commercial aviation helps drive $1.45 trillion in U.S. economic activity and more than 10 million U.S. jobs. A4A vigorously advocates on behalf of the American airline industry as a model of safety, customer service and environmental responsibility and as the indispensable network that drives our nation’s economy and global competitiveness.
A4A members are Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Atlas Air, Delta Air Lines, FedEx, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and UPS. Air Canada is an associate member.
At this year's MRO Americas in Atlanta, A4A is proud to be a purposeful partner and sponsor of the largest gathering of the aviation maintenance community. A4A is also proud to present the 59th Annual Nuts and Bolts Awards to kick off this year's conference.
Many of our subject matter experts and member airlines are participating in this year’s event. Vice President of Environmental Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer Kevin Welsh, Managing Director of Cybersecurity Marty Reynolds and Managing Director of Engineering & Maintenance Justin Madden will appear on panel discussions.
Since 1967, members of the (then) Air Transport Association Engineering and Maintenance Committee began recognizing leaders among their peers by annually bestowing ATA Nuts and Bolts Awards. That tradition continues today, as A4A and its Engineering, Maintenance and Materiel Council (EMMC) will recognize one individual in the airline category and another in the nonairline category for outstanding contributions to the airline industry over an extended period.
Today’s A4A EMMC selects award recipients for both categories from a group of individuals whose extraordinary efforts have enabled them to achieve success and respect for their leadership, service and contributions in the airline industry’s engineering and maintenance fields. This year's presentation will mark the 59th year the awards have been given.
Additionally, A4A is excited to host the annual Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Forum Sept. 23-25, 2025, in Ft. Worth, Texas. The Forum draws airline personnel and participants from various disciplines, including equipment designers, technicians, vendors, regulatory authorities, OEMs and MROs, to discuss current trends, issues and successes in NDT methodologies.
